I was recently interviewed by The BlackFlag Shoppe for their new website (be on the lookout for that in the near future) and one of the questions asked was who is my favorite artist, live or dead, and how do i compare myself to them. Well, there was only one person who came to mind. The G.O.A.T. Mr. Jimi Hendrix.
Not just because of the crazy hair, relentless on-stage antics, love for Mary Jane and unique fashion sense but because of the drive and love for music. Early in his career, Jimi was doing jams and shows in New York along with Little Richard and The Isley Brothers and got his big break. I don't have a Chas Chandler with me but I'm hoping on the big break. I doubt I'm going to move to London and take the Brit's by storm but Hey Joe, who knows. Which leaves me to say this.....
"Whether you can read music or not, as long as you can jam, you're damn good in my book. And that's a damn good book." Here's looking at you Voodo
Child.
James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix
(November 27, 1942 - September 18, 1970)
Craig my dear. I'm loving this post, alot. You know i give you my 100% support plus more and knowing what motivates you is important for your fans. Jimi Hendrix is a great reflection of you in so many ways. I can see why you relate and picked him. What's even greater is most underground hip hop talents would not choose him. More reason why I love ur creative mind! "The wind cries Mary" love that song the most of his :)
